Every charity dinner has a moment when the room decides whether to give. It usually lands after the main course, when the guests are relaxed and the energy can go either way. Rhys builds the night towards that moment: a warm welcome, the cause told simply and honestly, and the pledge moment or raffle run with confidence and good humour so people enjoy giving.

He keeps the practical side tight too. The raffle is quick, sponsors are thanked properly, your auctioneer is set up and handed the room at the right moment, and the running order flexes around the kitchen without the audience noticing.

Working with your auctioneer

Rhys does not run the live auction himself. Where a night has one, he works alongside your charity auctioneer: he sets the room up for it, introduces the auctioneer with the energy the auction needs, holds the room between segments and picks the pace straight back up afterwards. If you need an auctioneer, he can recommend specialists he has worked with.

Telling the cause without the guilt

Audiences give when they understand and when they feel looked after, not when they are lectured. Rhys works with your team and your beneficiaries beforehand to find the two or three stories that matter, and gives them room on the night. He introduces speakers and films with care, then brings the energy straight back up for the ask.
